Anns an Fhuil

In the Blood

Anns an Fhuil - Gaelic for In the Blood - began in 2016 as a short documentary about the fishermen from Great Bernera. The six-minute film was made to highlight the certainty of the fishermen’s identity in contrast with the changeability that comes with a life at sea. The project now consists of the documentary short, archival interviews, a short film A Collective Thing, and a new documentary M’athair an t-iasgair (2024).

M’athair an t-iasgair (My father the fisherman) A short documentary.

Screened at Hebrides International Film Festival, 2024
